Kathryn Cameron
The Installations, sculptures, drawings and paintings of Kathryn Cameron are all formed by materials with rich textures inspired by abstract forms, offering an echo of the natural elements of the Earth. Contemplation of growth, decay and chaos stimulate the viewer to explore the relationship between the container and the contained. In the dichotomy that embraces both the external and the internal status, with all of its inner symbolic values, the work is always in transformation. In this condition, subtle metamorphosis, ephemerality, and passage of time are guiding the process between deep poetry and structure, gentle form and spirit. www.kathryncameron.com
Nadia Martinez
Computer parts compose the sculptures of Nadia Martinez, in which nature and architecture are hidden sources of inspiration. The artificial nature of these components sometimes disappears, leaving space for a composition that reveals an organic shape. Many things are woven in this relationship with technology, as the discovery of the familiar in the unfamiliar, the observation of things that surround us, the awareness of how technology became a solid and integrated part of our lives. In her works, Nadia has found a way to also insert everyday materials, focusing on how things influence the human being and vice-versa. In this unique approach, the construction of the artist becomes an open process in which the things assume different shapes, such as armors, shields, nets, and whatever determines the interchange. The work is calm, offering a balance between stillness and subtle movement. The desire, the action, the research for a path of connection and disconnection, seems to reverberate with the antique mythology in which legend and reality constantly change their roles. www.nadiamartinez.com
Taka Maruno
Taka Maruno is a sort of traveler trapped in the interstice of the city, in which the change of the seasons is reflected with delicacy and elegance. The love and the beauty of the people emerge from immemorial time as a foundation and the manifestation of the intimacy of nature. In his rich palette, the joy of color is free but always severe, in a series of assonances and dissonances. The work suggests a simultaneous exchange between cold and warm elements, expressed through lines and volumes of color floating in a universe of suspended time.
